Counting down the days until the Maine State Star Party 2021 in Cobscook Bay State Park here in Maine. Fingers crossed for good weather, clear skies, and no wildfire smoke that we’ve been dealing with for a good part of the summer. Charlie Sawyer is the person who has been putting on this event for over a decade now (close to two decades??). I’ve been going for the past 4 or 5 years now. Really great, chill event to hang out with other fellow astronomers. Usually we don’t have a huge crowd, like 20 people on average. Sometimes we get other park campers that visit our site to check out the views through scopes and binoculars.
For those that use Facebook, here is the official event link.
